knitted aliens

 

This project has been made during the knitting course.

I wanted to knit using unconventional materials and that lead me to choose PVC pipes as the primary material.

The inspiration for this project was derived from microscopic photos of cancerous tumours and similar infections.

The attributes that attracted me the most were the bright colours and the tension that occurs in tumours which makes them look like something that arrived from another world.

 

Materials: PVC pipes, acrylic colours, oil, water, zip tie, wool and plastic wire.
